I've never spent as much as you on a particular collectible but I still don't like people touching my action figures/statues/etc. The only kids I ever have over are my brothers and while they don't like that they aren't supposed to play with my stuff, they do for the most part listen.

Sorry you have to deal with that. D: It doesn't matter what it is, if it's your house they should listen and respect what you have to say. If you don't want them doing something, they shouldn't. (Or they should leave.)

And it's not selfish at all, either.
