Kids can only touch stuff specially provided for them. I hate lending anything to adults because 'don't be so prissy, they're not kids, they can take care of it'. FUCK NO, adults can be inconsiderate shits; there's a 99.9% chance that they won't be as careful with my belongings as I am (hello, dog-eared, wrinkled books that were kept in pristine condition before lending). If I decide to total my stuff, it's *my* choice. You don't get to shrug off the damage because it's not important. Maybe not to you, because it's not *yours*. I'd be mortified if I so much as put a dent on something I've been lent, I expect the same level of care when I lend you my shit.

tl;dr If you're an asshole so am I. Fuck the haters.

I simply not lend stuff any more :( game boy carts? the pictures on the outside came back scratched and sometimes my save files gone. cds? smudged with fingerprints. markers, pens, color pencils, etc.? sometimes they keep them thinking I won't notice
