You'd be surprised, actually. Sometimes I think it would be so much easier if I was an atheist, and the world we see was all I thought there was, and there was no afterlife. I'm not the only one; I know other Christians who admit to being terrified at the idea of living forever, even in heaven. Eternity is a scary concept.

But I've been given enough evidence that I am a believer, and I can't just turn that off because it would be more convenient and less scary to not believe in God.

Huh. As an atheist who's much more terrified of ceasing to exist than of eternity, I guess that's... kind of comforting? I realize that sounds awful, to be glad that the belief I envy you for isn't always a comfort. Sorry. I guess wherever any one person stands on the question of belief or the lack of it, human doubt gets everywhere. And both eternity and nothingness are kind of beyond normal human comprehension, and people tend to be scared of the unknown. Terror, uniting believers and atheists at last. I hope the benefits of belief outweigh the pitfalls for you, and even if it scares you, I hope you guys who believe in some kind of life after death are right.
