Yeah, I gotta agree that it's pretty rude to comment on a fic someone is writing and tell them that they write well but it's a pile of Mary Sue crap and they wasted their talent writing it. I'm guessing you didn't word it quite like that, but seriously, what did you expect them to do? Say, "Oh, thank you for your stunning insight! I'll either stop writing this WIP or go back and change/delete this already existent fic to suit your needs?" I might not have deleted your comment if I were in their place, but I would have been pissed. Especially if you left the comment on the fic and didn't find a way to message me privately.
