The movie hasn't been out for very long, you know. The kind of stories you describe would take more work to write, and hence might not pop up for a while yet. Also? A lot of people can't afford to go to the cinema, and won't be able to join fandom until waaay later.

That said, why not try to write your own fics? You could include all the things you enjoy, and probably make a lot of other people happy as well! Plus, it might inspire other writers to try their hand at writing that style of fic.

All of this. :) The Hobbit came out in the U.S. on the 14th of December, and a lot of people were just seeing it for the first time this week. Be patient.
