Are there even any girls in that story

Nope, I think that's partially the reason Peter decided to include Galadriel. (Which I'm completely okay with. One can't have too much of her, imo.)

He also wrote a female elf into the next movie.

Galadriel can be Smurfette

lol, all I remember about Smurfs is that they're blue, they use the word smurf a lot, and there's only one female.

Again, I don't remember Smurfs that much, but Galadriel has to be a hundred times more awesome and flawless than Smurfette! (how did this comment happen)
