I'm aching to say "I don't ever want to see my parents again", but I don't want to be that one person who tempts fate and regrets it.

I'm still extremely angry though. They're just complete dicks sometimes (or in the case of my mom, almost all the time) and I hate them. It's easy to forget that when I haven't seen them in a while, but now that I've been stuck with them for two weeks and can't leave for another two, I'm on the verge of stabbing someone, whether it's them or myself.

fwiw, anon, I think my whole family was more relieved than upset when my father died, though I got a few fond messages about him from people who weren't related to him. But for us, it's like...we can all finally move on now and know we'll never have to deal with him again. Some people really are just complete, neverending shit to be around, and they do pay for it in the end.

A phone call every few weeks reminds me that I am really looking forward to the day my mother finally dies. I ran away from her 20 years ago and still can't bear to be around her for more than a few hours every two or three years.
