Re: Doctor Who - follow up!
The choice thing bugged me a lot too, but my biggest complaint was the combination of that and the way her "fate" was portrayed. I don't think not remembering the Doctor was that terrible -- she still had all the potential to be awesome that she had always had. So what mainly annoys me is that the Doctor didn't try to tell her this and try to convince her that she could still be brilliant all by herself and her memories of him weren't worth dying for, and get her to believe in herself and consent to having her memories wiped, instead of just steaming ahead without her input. It seemed like the episode was saying that yup, Donna wasn't worth much without the Doctor, and that's what annoyed me.
