Yup, although for me, that stems from my introduction to the Hobbit - a fifth grade art project. A guest art teacher read us the book over six weeks (and only got halfway through when it finished, resulting in me getting it from the library and devouring the whole thing in a week) while we made papier mache masks of the characters. I got Balin. Instant affection!

Having said that, the movies have also put Bofur right up there, with Ori not far behind.
