Er, This Means War, whatever it's called.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-05 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
i saw it on an airplane, but i found it pretty disappointing :/ full of Unfortunate Implications, lol

I found it much more entertaining after I watched it using this head canon, lol. It's not the best movie by any stretch, but it has some entertaining moments.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-05 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-06 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
I couldn't get past the first 15 minutes.

I tried. I really did. I liked all the actors and how bad could a funny spy movie be? Bad.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-07 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
It's probably pretty telling that I'd never heard of it until this secret and had to do some IMDB sleuthing.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-05 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I had conflicted feelings about the concept. ("Does dating two men make me a slut? What if I only sleep with one of them? What if I like the one I didn't have sex with more? Is it better to be an emotional or physical slut?") Like, it was a cute movie, but it was all over the place.

That being said: Team Picard. He likes it hot.

OP

The movie itself was pretty all over the place and not that well-written, imo. I mostly watched it for the eye-candy of the three leads. I found the story more enjoyable after watching it like this, though. Lol.

OH MY GOD. I totally forgot that he played the picard-clone
oh my god. you're right. it's a spy au. OH MY GOD.

Me too. That is so hilarious. I approve of this secret.

Just a FYI, Chris Pine is the new Jack Ryan and Tom Hardy is in talks to play that other guy with the generic name who's in those novels (and was played by Willem Dafoe in the 90s movies) so you'll be able to have your Star Trek CIA agent AU fantasy without the guilt of watching a shitty movie

(Anonymous) 2013-01-05 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
This pleases me greatly.

I was a bit excited but then I went to wikipedia and saw that Keira Knightley is in it and it killed my enthusiasm :(

(Anonymous) 2013-01-07 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Better than Reese Witherspoon, tbh

(Anonymous) 2013-01-05 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my god, haha.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-05 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)

BARF at the idea that Tom Hardy was a young Captain Picard.

We pretend that movie never existed, tyvm.

I may need to see this movie now, even if it sucks.

Also, now I want to Hardy appear in the nu!Star Trek-verse where he's a young, time-traveling Picard (before or after he lost his hair) who has lots of UST with Kirk, but can't act on it because he doesn't want to screw up the timeline too badly. Cue lots of side-eyeing from Spock. No idea why I want that. My brain just finds it hot and amusing.
