Thank you so much! Yes, shadows are everywhere. I need to figure out where they'd be on a face/

I have to admit I can't remember exactly what you said in your first post - do you want to get good at drawing *just* this face? Or any face? Because if it's just faces in general, get a desk lamp or something and light your own face and just...study the shadows.

Making a face look good is more about suggesting and highlighting what we already know is there, than it is about drawing hard-line outlines of actual features. Admittedly, in the style of drawing you linked up there, the mouth and eyes *are* pretty detailed, but even that kind of thing, you can get away with a lot more suggestion than detail.

Good luck!

Wonderful suggestion! I'll definitely do that, I just got a new desk lamp.

I'd actually like to be able to draw everything! Body and head :)

Cool. I was never too good at making people. I used to draw a lot, just grab a vase and some flowers or whatever and draw them, but i was never particularly *good*, just dogged, heh.

Just keep in mind the *negative* space, too. Like - between an arm and a hip, or a leg and a clothing hem. Getting the negative space right helps keep the actual body shape in proportion.
