(Anonymous) 2013-01-07 12:53 am (UTC)(link)There are a lot of serious sci-fi fans who consider Firefly to be mediocre at best and barely worthy of mention. Seriously, it is not well-regarded and, in some circles, it's social suicide to admit that you like it.
The idea that it's a "classic" is absolutely ridiculous and mostly a product of Joss Whedon worship than anything else. And I'm saying this as someone who actually enjoyed it.
