yeah, you just have to not join the stormcloaks or the legion lmao. you still have to mediate later on but it's about as neutral as you can get in the war.

i always end up joining the dark brotherhood even when i'm trying to be a "good" character so that makes the choice between both sides a little easier for me, for spoilery reasons.

i think the legion has a noble cause but yeah the thalmor really muck it up.

Yeah, I'm trying to do everything the first time through, plus I like progression in the world. It makes it seems more "alive" than just having an eternal Civil War.

(I just realized that in Skyrim, the Civil War could also be classed as "The War of Northern Agression," only, well. XD)

I'm in the middle of the Dark Brotherhood questline (well, I just started it, but same thing), so maybe that'll influence me when I finish it. (But thanks for not spoiling me!)

I feel like "Damn Thalmor" is going to become a fairly constant refrain for me here....
