I've always assumed that Omegaverse includes at least dub-con.

Um. I'm the anon the anon you're replying to was replying to. And I'm not sure that sentence makes sense, but howandever ...

The fic I read didn't have any notification in summary or tags that it was going to involve dub-con or non-con. Not knowing what A/B/O was, that meant I got ... Um. Whammied. I mean ... I'm guessing you had an idea from fannish osmosis? But that's not exactly reliable, depending on what circles/fandoms someone's being moving in.

As I said, I've started assuming it involves them now. But to get to that, I had to read that first one. And that ... was not a pleasant surprise.

Oh, no, I get it. I was answering to the anon who replied to you. I'm not into this kink but I assumed people don't always tag dub-con because it would be implied in the kink itself. Just a thought, I really don't know.

I ... would rather they made it explicit, just in case? Giving it a different name doesn't change the subject matter, after all.

Um. I mean, I get what you're saying, why they don't. I just wish they would, is all.

Yeah, warning would be the right thing to do, I agree.

Plus, this can be said about any warning that includes fandom shorthand or acronym. Someone who's never read fanfic before isn't necessarily going to know what 'dub-con' means; even on this site, discussions about various kinks often involve people chiming in about how they never knew what that one meant.

Until someone publishes that guide that was talked about a few days ago and makes it mandatory reading for newbies, there's still going to be triggering that's accidental on both sides.
