I'd think they'd be more, since, you know, they're the only ones capable of having babies. But, whatever, I suppose that anyone with baby-making parts is automatically lesser.

Seriously, if omegas are rarae (like they seem to be in so many fics), you'd think alphas would be falling all over themselves trying to court them. And there certainly should be massive consequences for raping them.

On the other hand, the same situation can be ripe for abuse, like ones where omegas are institutionalized or locked away for their own "safety" to protect them kidnapping and such. Since no omega means no babies, omegas in that kind of world can rise in "status" so much that they become status symbols and stealing someone else's omega can be a politic maneuver.

Are there any omega-heavy fics with a low number of alphas? Maternal society, one alpha has to serve several omegas... I think it'll be interesting.
