Twilight spawned a new genre of young adult fiction

Um, no? Paranormal teen romance has existed long before Twilight entered the scene. That's like saying The Hunger Games spawned a futuristic dystopian genre for young adult fiction. All they do is making the genre popular again.

The fact is that after Twilight, paranormal teen romance got its own section with its own sign in the bookstore. That's a little more tangible than just making something popular.

Fair enough, but don't give credit where it's not due, that's all. Twilight invented a new YA genre? That's just laughable.
