AYRT - that being the case I cannot understand why fandom has migrated over there to such an extent. I spend/spent the vast majority of my fandom time in discussions with people, and I miss that now. I always seemed to have a lot of people to discuss with, so I've been surprised at the decrease in activity recently.

Shame, I was still somewhat hoping I'd misunderstood Tumblr and there was a hidden 'debate' button somewhere, but apparently not.

Oh, I feel your pain. I don't care for tumblr, both because of the lack of conversation/open conversation*, and because it's a pain in the ass to actually find what you want through the search function.

*Most conversations I've seen there are usually done through pms/asks, so it's not really a method that's open to multiple people joining in - which is something I really love in fandom discussion.

Oh yes, open discussions can be wonderful. Some of my favourite fandom moments have been when I've been chatting happily about my interpretation of an episode/interpretation/character, and bff has been agreeing with me, then out of nowhere an acquaintance pops up with a completely different opinion, sparked by something we'd said, and we all end up viewing the subject in a new way.

Shame if Tumblr is the new site of choice and that doesn't happen so much.

Anyway, thank you for educating me nonny.
