Definitely negatively. I can't stand the song, and the twangy country-ness of it never fits with any fandom.

Well, that seems fair. Also, too much of any single song is indicative of a lack of originality and creativity in the fandom, so I suppose there's a logic to your judgment.

what if the fandom in question is set in a "country" setting?


Though I can understand annoyance if fifty people use it . Jiminy Cricket people be fuckin creative here!

It would certainly fit better than with, say, Dexter (yes, there is a Dexter/Deb video with the song).
