(Shit the one time I forget to copy before I hit post is the time DW decides to eat my comment.)

Basically I talked about how length isn't so much an issue with me since I take into consideration time it takes to watch a season/series vs a book/series, instead of straight up episode vs book. Also I learned how to knit/crochet/needlework to give my hands something to do, so now I see watching TV/movies as more productive since I can multitask.

Also book fandoms are generally smaller than most TV fandoms, and I tend to pick out series based on recs/permeative squee nowadays - e.g. Community after the 2011 Fandom Steel Cage Match - so books are already at a disadvantage.

I think my brain might be slightly rebelling against reading due to the hours of reading I need to do for college, so watching TV/movies seems like a more intense burst of relief.

And yeah...come to think of it, the only book fandom I've been heavily involved in on the internet is Harry Potter.
