SO How excited are you guys for the new pokémon game?!!

I'm embarrassed to admit I haven't played the ones after diamond, but I really wanna get a 3DS and have a marathon now. :(

I haven't played any post-gen-4 games, either, although I really want to. I don't own a DS--I borrowed my stepsister's to play through Diamond. Maybe the next big paycheck I get will go to treating myself to a cheap refurbished model!

I thought the Starters were ugly as sin on first glance, but over the course of a few hours, they've REALLY grown on me. I especially like the little fire fox, which is unusual for me--I don't really like Fire starters, except for Torchic.

Also, we can apparently catch Princess Mononoke's Forest Spirit now, and that makes me happy.

Meeeee! Not digging the fact that there will be legendaries (seriously, I am so fucking over them now), but otherwise I'm really happy with the new Pokemon so far announced.

Also, fennec fox pokemon aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!

I'M SO EXCITED.

Admittedly I didn't finish Soulsilver and haven't played B2, but JUST LOOK AT IT!

I really ought to play at least Black or White first (and maybe either SoulSilver/Heartgold), but that fire fennec fox is goddamn adorable.

(Not as adorable as the other fire foxes, but still cute.)

There was a minute where I wasn't sure if that avatar was male or female, but I assumed male because of the pants. Female protagonists don't get pants. Before this announcement I was very reluctant to get a 3DS. Now I want one something fierce.

I've never been a hardcore Pokemon player but I'm pretty excited for this! It looks so pretty and I am so shallow. ;3;

On the one side: FUCKING FINALLY NEW POKEMON YES YAYYY!

On the other side: We'll never get a proper Pokemon game for a non-handheld console, will we? (a game where you have to steal I mean rescue other people's Pokémon instead of catching them doesn't count :/)

On the other other side: I don't have a 3DS and I don't really want one.

On the other other other side: I saw some gameplay of BW and BW2 and I think they've hit the ceiling; the art style simply looks too silly for the more serious (which I liked) type of storylines they've tried. Dramatic revelations simply don't have the same oomph to them with chibi-style art sprites and meh backgrounds. This one looks somewhat better, though?

I was hoping someone would make this thread. I stayed up past 1:00AM to watch that announcement and it was SO worth it.

I need to get myself a 3DS.

And dangit these games are going to make me a Francophile I just know it. I developed such a bad case of East-Coast-o-philia from Gen V. ;_;

I'm ridiculously excited, haha. I want that frog Pokemon so much! <3 (I hated tympole with the burning passion of a thousand suns, and now there is a finally a frog Pokemon I'd actually like to catch.)

Shit, and here I was thinking X & Y were letters of the alphabet with a clear set-up for a 3rd title half a year later named Z.
