I found Seneca really compelling in the movie.

Same! Which was surprisingly since he was hardly a character in the books. I think it was because the actor (I forget his name) did a fantastic job with some of the subtle expressions and such.

Yeah, I think so too. I barely recognized the name when I saw the casting, but his performance made me want to know more about the character. Cinna was similar for me, not in that he wasn't a full character in the books - I loved him - but his movie portrayal had a much more palpable weight to it and made me feel like there was more of a story to him. He was probably the one I was most pleased with from book to screen.

Cinna was absolutely lovely. He was already my favorite character in the books.

Yeah, the later revelations about Cinna are a hella lot easier to guess when watching the first movie than observing from a Katniss POV in the first book.
