Nice.

The OP already had self-esteem issues and gets snide comments about how unattractive the person he/she's trying to emulate is or how awful his/her taste in music is?

Great job, FS. It's like this is high school and you're the bullies and mean girls.

There are two people above who said Gerard wasn't attractive to them. One of which also said that everyone has different taste and is sure someone out there will find OP attractive the way they are. Everyone else stated he would be sad, because he's suffered from the same issues and hearing he contributes to cause someone to feel that way would just make anyone like that feel horrible. Not one thing is state negatively, so please stop assume there are bad intentions behind it.

As for the post, OP if it bothers you that much seek out help. Whether peers you know or professional, anyone who can help build self confidence can benefit at this point. Maybe you could try to go to a concert of them, and try to meet him.

I agree the above anon might've been overreacting a bit, but:

"I don't really get it. I mean his eyes are about the only thing "pretty" about his face, IMO.

That hair though. Ugh. It looks so destroyed.
That's the first thing my eyes got drawn to, and I can't really focus on much else. It just looks so so horrible."

"i've never seen the dude before, but i don't find him pretty at all"

"omg gerord way is soo gottik!1 u hav gud tast in singrz anoon."

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that those aren't positive comments, and I'm giving you the side-eye for pretending they are.

Fuck the haters, OP. Admire whoever you want and as long as it isn't hurting anyone else, who cares what other people think? You do your own thing and be proud of it.

Really?

This is a late reply, urgh.

I do agree OP, shouldn't care what others think, but they seem to have esteem issues, and caring how other think of you tend to go hand in hand with it. It's hard to actually over come on your own.

However:

If someone say they don't find something attractive in THEIR opinion and you take it in a negative way, then it's your fault for not understanding different tastes. Beauty is subjective. Let's keep this simple, You can say that you find a child(not naming specific children) is pretty/beautiful(based on your personal concept of beauty), and based on my concept of beauty I can say I find them to be hideous or ugly. While it would be seen as malicious, that would not be the intent if no other context is giving.

"I don't really get it. I mean his eyes are about the only thing "pretty" about his face, IMO."-Is her/his opinion. Based on their view, his eyes appeal to them.

That hair though. Ugh. It looks so destroyed.
That's the first thing my eyes got drawn to, and I can't really focus on much else. It just looks so so horrible."-is also her opinion based on how the hair LOOKS.

His hair legit looks fucked up in this picture in my opinion (this is coming from someone who sees a lot of over-processed dye jobs including on myself). There is no denying it, so why sugarcoat it, there are better recent photos that could have been used where his hair isn't that bad.

"I've never seen the dude before, but i don't find him pretty at all"-an opinion also. This picture gives this person their first impression.

Key words-I don't find, IMO, It just looks so horrible along with they could focus on anything other than his hair.

The last example is most likely a troll, based solely on the writing. No one should take their words to heart or even pay attention. Or one of the weaboo wannabees who type like that for everything.

I'm giving you the side-eye for clearly not having both reading comprehension skills (which would have helped notice the key words I pointed out on how to spot someone's opinion), and understanding different opinions of things DOESN"T mean your personally attacking someones likes.

No one here is a hater, trust me. If they were this thread would not only have been more active, but also less polite. No one used derogatory words towards him (I heard people refer to him as, to put in blatantly acrossed for a point, a fag. Not only that but how he and music sucks and should die for just being him self. Side-note: I don't agree with these people, I actually love him (as a role model) for people). Those are true haters, not someone expression their personal physical attraction or lack of, towards him.

Personally I don't find him attractive, combination of his hair (the over processed and bold hue), face shape and his expression in this pic doesn't appeal to me. However, I can see how someone like OP, can find him pretty. The others could be like that too, or not, they never expressed either way.

Re: Really?

So... nobody said anything negative except for the people who legitimately* thought he was unattractive and his hair looked terrible, and the troll who mocked the OP for their taste in music. Got it.

* Offering unsolicited critique of someone's appearance is fine as long as it's labeled LEGIT, amirite?

Re: Really?

No, but I only used legit for his hair. Seeing as that was a long post things are bound to be things forgotten to be typed or typos, I even tried double checking that post to make sure that wouldn't happen but oh, well it did, I didn't notice it so I never tried to fix it. So let me explain, to me (and them) his hair looks legitimately (which I admit I happen to use out context sometimes-it's a bad habit of mine) like its damaged at first glance (you can't tell until you actually feel and/or examine it up close sometimes), it may not to you or OP or others, and it not even be damaged, however it does not mean it doesn't appear that way.

You can't say people are being negative by there preferences on what they find attractive. Yes, they didn't have to comment, but they did. They commented on what they saw, based on their opinion and personal beauty standards, just like OP commented on his appearance in the confession, based on their opinion and beauty standards. Also again, Beauty is subjective, hence the saying beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally wouldn't take the non-troll comments as negative, one even said that OP could like him and to go for(I think?), if you and OP do then ok.
