Question.

Is it possible for a woman to go through menopause if she has had a hysterectomy?

IIRC from my own mother's experience (she had a full hysterectomy), this sent her directly into menopause, so... yes, I think so

Brilliant. My mom, while she was never known for her good moods, has been perpetually cranky for quite a while now. I got to thinking about it and my brain suddenly went "hey, maybe it's menopause! I mean, she's 53, right?"

In any case, I don't think I'm going home for school breaks anymore. I wish I could make her happy, but all I manage to do is remind her that I'm not the perfect child she wants.

I think so? I seem to remember people talking about not getting a hysterectomy in their 30s because they didn't want to go through menopause. You might be able to delay it with hormone replacement pills? I really am not sure though.

Yes. It usually happens immediately if the ovaries are removed. If not, it usually happens at the "normal" time or slightly earlier.
