Interesting. I do agree that Yoochun is a better actor than singer (especially as the years have passed; when DBSK first debuted he was a pretty good singer, but by the time their fourth or fifth album, geez his voice...), but without the DBSK fame I don't think he would have ever made it as an actor.

I was just going to say this. Why hate the thing that made it possible to see him act?

Yes, that's why he didn't get his first lead (SungKyunKwan Scandal) in 2010, after the split with SM and his functional career suicide.

*No one* was doing him favors because he was an idol, he got that role only because he was perfect for it, because all of the members of JYJ were (and to a certain extent still are) pariahs in the South Korean entertainment industry.

His acting bores me to tears.

I kind of hope he gets into a Mongol invasion. You know, not too bad, but enough to put him in the hospital. That way fans might start appreciating him more. I'm not a bad historian!

He's passable as an actor, but I doubt he would have made it without the initial stardom backing him up.

It would be nice if the poor bastard didn't have the fanatical stalkers, and those are due to him being DBSK. His voice used to be good though! Fuq u anyway Mickey, for smoking so much, and you with asthma too u dumbass!

The initial stardom of being blacklisted from almost every South Korean entertainment venue because of the ongoing lawsuit with SM? SKK Scandal was his first major role, and that happened *after* the lawsuit. Half of why he left was because they weren't getting him acting auditions.

I like him as an actor too, but DB5K wouldn't be quite as magical without him. Yeah, I know the "you'd never have missed him" argument, but those 5 men together were like this special secret combination that when put together couldn't be beaten.

Your nostalgia goggles are showing. DBSK were decent, but at least half of the rookies that debuted in 2012 were more polished by their second comeback than DBSK were at their peak.

I've watched those videos and live stages, and they really, really don't hold up well to close scrutiny.

There's a difference between being polished and having chemistry. DBSK weren't perfect but they did have that special something that elevated them above their peers.
