I really don't care about the controversy. I just think Quentin Tarantino is incredibly overrated.

Ugh I know. I really don't like Quentin Tarantino movies. The only thing I have ever liked by him was that episode of CSI he directed.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-10 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I liked Jackie Brown and thought Pulp Fiction was okay, but the majority of his stuff is over-hyped crap. Ugh.

I don't think I've seen his CSI episode, though. I wasn't even aware he directed one.

It's super scary. But really solid.

He directed Grave Danger, the S5 finale where Nick gets kidnapped. So probably the reason I like it is because of the character whump. Yes. The whump *rubs hands together gleefully*

I've only watched both Kill Bill and even though there were a few parts that I liked, the fountains of blood put me off.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-10 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Kill Bill is probably his bloodiest work. And my least favorite, fwiw.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-11 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
Kill Bill was boring. You should watch Reservoir Dogs. It's much more intense and drama heavy. It's all about the actors.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-11 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
I hated that CSI episode. It just seemed like a shorter, more condensed version of his movies and didn't fit with the feel of the show at all.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-10 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
This.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-11 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
OMGYES.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-11 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. It's like he is the kid who so much wants to be part of the group and when you try to friend him he goes so far overboard trying to fit in that he comes off as fake and plastic.

He is, but he's still not as big an asshole as spike lee.
supermanda: (Dino Crisis)

:(
ariakas: (man walks on fucking moon)

I came here to say exactly this. Ugh. He's become a predictable gimmick director on almost as egregious a scale as Shyamalan.

No, wait, I mean he's ~~~~so~~~~ ~~~~~edgy~~~~~

This. He is a just...it's old, now. He does this super-gory, grind-house kind of stuff, super-vulgar set-piece mess of movies and i just...don't care anymore. Pulp Fiction, okay, From Dusk to Dawn - kinda fun. Otherwise?

No, thank you.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-11 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
I like his movies well enough and I agree with you.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-11 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree. Pulp Fiction was one of the most boring films I ever saw.

He did an interview on channel 4 (UK) yesterday, and he behaved like a spoilt child. Proved he is a wanker as well as overrated.
