This has to break the record for the lowest amount of secrets in one post. I am seriously tempted to submit a bunch of random opinions I've seen in various fandom communities over the years. Maybe even a troll secret or two.

Eh, it's probably just a cycle. As far as I remember, the secret amounts always shoot up after sweeps/during the summer blockbuster season/after a large fandom explodes or comes into being, and down again in the winter/around every holiday/whenever nothing new and interesting is happening.

Nah, it's probably just because of the holidays. There are high and low points around here all the time. No need to worry. ;)

I blame the move to DW, and no amount of people ganging up to bash me (as seen in the other thread) is ever going to change my opinion.

It's not like LJ is a hub of activity lately, though. I haven't even bothered with it aside from reading out fic that's not cross-posted elsewhere for months.

Were you here this summer when various people put up stats and graphs that showed the move to DW was way better for the comment count? There may not be as many comments per day but people talk way more.

Even though the secrets may be less in number, I still like the move. It definitely had an effect on the community here, but I personally thing it was for the better. I've never been so involved in FS, both in replying to the secrets and here on the GC threads. It's so much more fun than it used to be on LJ!

So yeah, I acknowledge the move changed the tone of the comm, but definitely not dying.

Dude, I'm a serious fan of LJ and grudgingly shuffled over here and refuse to make an account.

But even I fucking know that the weeks surrounding christmas, new years and the general holiday/return to work period have hardly any secrets. When it was on LJ it was all "the comm is dying!" and now you're blaming the move.

There's less secrets because people are busy or tired or doing shit. I normally post a couple of secrets a week and comment every day, but I've posted none in 3 weeks and only commented every couple of days because I had holidays, then returned to work and now I'm busy.

It will go eventually, but not quite yet. January can be a rough month, work to catch up on, students starting a new semester. People will be back once they've given up on the new year's resolutions to go to the gym every day and spend more time with friends and family.

It's not the first time we've had 12 secrets. It's the holiday season, winter break, it's a slow time of year. But honestly? It's not dying, it's just slowed down a bit. The comm is still active even with the lower number of secrets.

We're doing fine. (What everyone else said about the holidays and people being busy because it's the new year.)

Even despite that we've had a good amount of comments and discussion, and a lot of the secrets this past week haven't been from popular fandoms (which usually means less comments too). I've barely had anything to say this week because of the fandoms; it happens.

I don't think it's dying either. But the slow-down makes me feel like submitting some secrets of my own. The only one I can think of right now is such a non-secret I might as well put my name on it but I've got a couple more I could try.

It's not dying, actually it was kinda dead-er back in LJ than it is now. We'll get more secrets eventually. MAYBE YOU COULD MAKE SOME? :)

The holidays, people going back to work, school starting back--all these things have conspired to make traffic a bit lighter. I've noticed that on my friends list on LJ and on my circle on DW, not just here.

Also, the past couple days have largely consisted of secrets for fandoms I don't know anything about and so have prevented me from doing a lot of commenting. Imagine that's true of any given post; some people are just not gonna know the fandoms.

I think F!S still has a pulse.
