Remember though. Yeah, there's a culture here that knows it. But it's not mainstream. They are gonna try to make this shit mainstream.

How do you make that shit mainstream?

I'm curious, though, how the overall themes of the film will filter through an American director's brain.

Probably by removing any mention of incest and making it a generic revenge thriller.

Funny thing is, a lot of foreign film buffs consider Oldboy to be mainstream to the point that some have called it "entry-level" because of how popular it is.
