I played in band in sixth and seventh grade. The clarinet. The only instrument I play now is... the skin flute. I'm okay with a harmonica.

Well clarinet playing would have given you the ground work, correct breathing techniques (my spell check wanted to correct it to kinkiness) are so important to do some things well.
