Re: HALP my firefox thinks it is internet explorer

OH FUCK REALLY SHIT FUCK FUCKING SHIT DDDDDDDDDD:

(how did you know? did you upgrade it too and made things go bonkers???? shiiiiiiiiiiit)

FUCK I don't want to lose my bookmarks and shit and reinstalling everything is such a PAINNNNNNNNNN also my old version was in a different language so every time I tried google reverse image search it would automatically redirect me to the version of google that matched my brower language which is a version of google that doesn't allow reverse image search FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

I googled "firefox acting like internet explorer" and people talked about uninstalling a browser plugin I DON'T HAVE and all the other threads even the ones from 2006 didn't have anyone saying "this is how to fix it"

the only things people said were "I have this problem too please help meeeeee"

FUUUUUUCK

Dude, no, no, you don't have to lose your bookmarks, just export them to your desktop or wherever, uninstall (and make sure you have Chrome or something first so you have a browser) and get the older version you want.

seriously, every time I update firefox, it's somehow slower and crashes more often, BUT I DON'T LEARN MY LESSON, THEIR TALKS OF FIXING SECURITY VULNERABILITIES SCARE ME INTO UPDATING EVERY TIME

(although, maybe this last 18.0 may fix things? maybe? hopefully? I won't know until I re-start. sigh)

like tabaqui said, you can export your bookmarks for later use (one of the options is a simple html file), and then back up that somewhere else if you are feeling wary

lmao you too with the reverse google image search? I just take out the ".(country extension)" so it's ".com" again, but you can also just bookmark the url itself (it doesn't redirect for me if I go to it directly through a bookmark, maybe it won't for you either):

https://www.google.com/imghp?hl=en&tab=wi

also, if you have add-ons, extensions, scripts, etc., write them down so you can hunt them down again

yeah, everything I've found about "firefox is slower with this update" etc. is of YEARS ago, with older versions

in any case, this might help you?

http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/931530

http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-older-version-of-firefox

(chrome sounds tempting, but I don't want google spying on me even more, and I don't know if there are things like noscript for it)

hm okay I've read your support links and I think I'm ready to rollback and thanks for the tips on reverse image search! I never figured out how to do it properly with the automatic redirects since it seemed to detect my browser's not even in english so it would refuse to switch or something, blah!

(there is something like noscript for chrome yeah it's called No Script! or something but I don't want big bro google looking over my shoulder either so I use it even less than internet explorer even though I do have it installed)
