I dunno, i'm at version 17.0 or something, updating is okay. I have no plugins or anything though.

All you gotta do is dl the version you like better, uninstall after exporting your bookmarks, and Bob's your uncle. You don't have to do that super-uninstall thing you're talking about. That's crazy, dude. :)
