Re: A fanfic that made you cry

Um, excuse me, there can totally be more than one anon selling this fic as hard as they can

yes it was me D:

I strongly recommend The Fifth Act as well, if you have faith in my recommendations, fingalsanteater! When I first read it I didn't know anything about the game it references the most (Crisis Core), so I wasn't familiar with most of the characters, and it still blew me away. It's also one of those rare stories that holds up even better in re-reads, where you can see how the tale was weaved as a whole, and notice things you missed the first time around. Most of the author's stories are like this (at least the recent ones; I haven't read her older works for other fandoms).

Knowing the plot of the original Final Fantasy VII game and the movie Advent Children helps a lot, but you can always consult the wiki to get the references. It is surprisingly informative.

Thanks for the recs!

(Are you shipping Harriet/Asteria too or is it just me?)

I am. :O I'm glad I'm not the only one! That "thank you" drawing of flowers made me go so :3. Like, I could see it being an actual crush on Asteria's part, but also as very intense gratitude.

I think this is the first fic where I've shipped three incompatible pairings all at once (Harry/Snape, Harry/Hermione, Harry/Asteria), and the only fic where I would be okay with any of them being either simple friendship or actual romance.

Seriously, if the author said "yeah, fuck shipping, this fic is gen now" I would not even be upset.

I agree! I'm shipping Harry/Hermione too. (The only time ever.)

I'm a Snarry shipper (OTP, yo), and I've never read female!Harry/Snape so I'm curious to see how it pans out.

But, yeah. I'm really shipping Harry/Asteria, especially after last chapter. They are so cute! I can't wait for Asteria to get more comfortable around Harry and I hope they become friends.

I've wanted to get into Harry/Hermione, but not a single story I've read with them has convinced me. They just get into each other too much and too soon. Let the thing build up, people! orz And finding simple friendship between them as a focus is not that easy, so this story surprised me so much!

I have seen female!Harry/Snape before. Trust me, you're not missing out on anything. :V

(Snape/Harry was my OTP too for a good long while Harry/Tom for life! but I still like to read it from time to time. Like, in this story. >B) I, uh, hope that it doesn't come into play until Harriet is older, though. As amusing as it is to see the two of them flail in their tension-filled interactions and struggling with actually caring for each other, my tolerance for underage dealings has decreased as I have grown older, so it would be very uncomfortable as things are now. I can't wait for Sirius to enter the picture and have epic verbal spars with Snape over the matter, though.)

Last chapt-? Oh, yeah, the fic updated! I had been "saving" it for reading later. I hope they become friends, too. Even beyond their interactions, I want the rest of the school to be all like "gasp! A Gryffindor and a Slytherin... FRIENDS?!" and who knows, that might actually work out for the best regarding the rifts between Houses. /optimist

Oh yeah. I don't want any Snarry-ish interaction until she's way older. I'm hoping she'll date other people before him and not all of a sudden be "Omg, I love Snape" in, say, fifth year.

I am so looking forward to the conclusion of third year since things are already so different. I'm loving Remus' POV and his interactions with Sirius. Maybe things will turn out better for Sirius because of this. *crosses fingers*
