I've watched a lot of very funny female comedians. I think it's partly due to comedy being seen as a 'guys only' type of place. So some men feel they're losing their ~manly manhood~ if women join their party. It's the same deal with women who are part of the comic community or gamer community.

I think it's just how women are viewed. Humour is a powerful sense of personality, and it's strange to a lot of men (and, indeed, women) to see so much of that coming out of a female. I think that's why women who are considered unattractive (especially those who are overweight) can still collect quite a bit of laughs. Women are objectified by default, even by other women, so I don't think this is strictly a men vs. women issue.

I wish I could explain myself better than this :/ I know what I'm saying, but I definitely can't articulate my thoughts!
