Have you seen much other Bond? I asked because I've tried three times to get into Bond fandom, and every time I've washed up on "creepy dubcon that the narrative thinks is just sexy sex" and had to bail out, before I was halfway through the movie/book. :/ If there's Bond out there that doesn't have Bond sleeping with a girl who isn't entirely free to say no, or under false pretenses, I would love to know what it is, and maybe I can start there.

(I have nothing against dubcon in general and sometimes I find those scenarios sexy, but the narrative has to realize it's dubcon first.)

Pretty much all the other Craig Bonds are good at avoiding creepy dubcon. But yeah, avoid the original books unless you want an uncomfortable laugh at just how hideously racist, sexist and homophobic a white guy in the 50's could be.

So basically if I want Bond without creepy dubcon, it's just Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace?

Bah. I will watch those someday, but I suspect I'll spend the whole time fangirling M and forgetting when Bond in onscreen.
