Yeah, she really seemed to hate having sex with him. She looked so startled and frightened and she panicked and she didn't at all pull him close the moment she noticed him.

/sarcasm

precisely

And it's not like pretending to be happy about having sex with guys she might not like or even guys she's afraid of is her job or anything.

Oh, wait.

Bless you and thank you.

Fuckin' this!

All that means is that it might be ambiguous (to the audience) whether or not she wanted to have sex with Bond.
It does not mean that she without out a doubt didn't consent.

Nothing at all in that scene or in the rest of the movie indicates that she's pretending.

So the only way we can know for sure is if we know what she's thinking, because now we can't take cues from her behavior? Can't wait for the pop-up Bond movies, so we can see (and monitor!) what everyone's thinking all the time.

She's a prostitute who just made a life-risking deal with him, and now he's pretty much the only one who can get her out alive. If he implies that he also wants sex or else he won't help her, she doesn't have much choice, does she?

I think it's a case of shoddy editing making the scene look skeevier than anyone intended.

You make a good point about why she might say yes when she didn't mean it, but it doesn't mean that she couldn't have meant it.

Which leaves us with an ambiguously creepy scene.

Actually, once he was on the boat, he was caught. As was illustrated by the scene where she tells him they could turn around; a scene after they had sex, a scene where she's trying to give him a last out, and where the collection of armed guards shows that there is no way out any more.

Why are you so sane about all this? ILU for it.

Haha, thank you! I loved the movie (and Sévérine) And I watched the film at the cinema thrice.
