It might have to do with the fact that a lot of comedy routines revolve around personal experience and it's hard for a man to get what some women talk about. The same as it might be hard for a white person to get some black comedy routines.

Not saying women aren't funny or write general comedy, of course.

But I don't think Ellen is one of them. She always seems to laugh at her own jokes and that gets on my nerves. There are a few guys that do that too though.
