Re: Let's list things with women who are goddamn hilarious
(Anonymous) 2013-01-12 11:43 am (UTC)(link)Absolutely Fabulous Even if absurdist slap-stick isn't your cup of tea, Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley are really good at what they do, on point with the satire, and completely unashamed about clowning without embarrassment or apology.
The Vicar of Dibley Dawn French does warm, kind and completely hilarious.
The News Quiz The only panel show that's always gender-balanced. Sandi Toksvig, Susan Calman and Sue Perkins being consistently brilliant.
Miranda Another woman who can do physical comedy and one-liners with panache.
Black Books OMG Tamsin Grieg as Fran. "You know you're in for a good night when there's a polar bear, bleeding, on the bottle"
Spaced Jessica Stevenson does pitch-perfect understated situational comedy.
Dinner Ladies In which Victoria Wood (both writing and acting) strikes a perfect laughing/weeping balance.
The Sarah Millican Television Programme Really hope this one lasts, because there are so few women hosting chat shows, and I love how Millican does humour about herself without being self-deprecating.
Etc.
