Notes:

Sorry, early today!

Also: I'm not going to officially warn for tongue-in-cheek "triggers" just to provide anyone with a fandom-specific in-joke when there are none in the secret.

Except 90% of all huskies in the media have the same goddamn look. Do you have a special radar? Because I find it really hard to pick out the trouble maker when nearly all of the dogs have the same look to them. Considering the mask markings are the most well recognized looks for huskies, I am not surprised in the slightest that it is the most used type. Lord only knows how you can pick it out.

Don't know much about dogs, I take it. There's a variety of husky markings frequently used in the media.

lmao, what the hell. whether someone perceives a great difference between huskies presented in the media has nothing to do with 'knowing much about dogs'. are you for real? this is a joke.

Someone who is more familiar with dogs or the relevant breed would be better able to pick out different marking patterns and facial features even among the limited variety used in the media.

nope, you're wrong. this is called 'being knowledgeable on huskies', not, 'knowing about dogs'.

Never owned a husky in my life and I can still tell tv huskies apart. Who's got eyebrows, who's got socks, light coat, dark coat, the set of the ears. Watch dogs long enough, you learn to tell them apart by their faces. That's all it is.

da

depends on the breeds you're familiar with? only if your experience is with dogs with various different markings AND, er, sled dog movies? would you get what op was even trying to get at here

Don't know much else, I take it. Protip: obscure and pointless "knowledge" does not make you superior.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-12 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I never said it did, you jumped to that conclusion on your own. Maybe you should see somebody about that inferiority complex of yours. Must be a cumbersome thing.

Not so much- they have a pretty specific profile they want. No piebalds (ie, white round with disconnected spots of color), they prefer dark pigment, must have blue eyes, and they preer an open mask to bars and goggles. (The puppy in the gif has 'goggles' but those'll fade once the dog grows up- they're less picky on casting puppies since there's a narrower window for filming there most of the time- you'll notice that husky puppies in animated stuff don't have the goggles.)

-not an OP (who really could care less about the wank) but a husky owner who does commercial work with her dogs
