(Anonymous) 2013-01-12 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)I really don't get the stanning for characters like the ones on BE or Mad Men. They're all portrayed as morally grey in their shows, and yet there are Betty stans angry at people who seem to like Don better, Peggy stans upset at Pete stans and so on. I mean, I'd be able to sympathize more if it was a fandom like Torchwood, where people hate on Gwen (and, by extension, Eve Myles) for silly reasons, but not so much like BE.

Peggy slept with a married man once, and it nearly ruined her life. You can't tell me that regarding him as a better person is not a double standard.
