I hate to break it to you but lots of famous and respected artists and authors have done that. Get off your moral high horse. Everyone is different, and some people open up more when they're a bit drunk and that's when they're the most creative. OH MY GOD HORRIFYING I KNOW

Why don't you judge other people for choices they make that you don't like? Depending on the drug, moderate use of drugs isn't even that bad for you, no worse than pigging out on junk food every once in awhile. Why don't you hang out in the McDonald's drive thru and yell at everyone about how stupid they are for consuming 1,000 calorie meals and how all that salt and fat is going to make them sick?

Because it wasn't calories that destroyed my brother's brain but weed and not a burger too much that destroyed my uncle's family but alcohol.
And because nobody I know has been flattened by a rolling fat person, but a friend of my parents got in an accident with a drunk driver. Stop pretending drugs are all sunshine and kittens when they're not.

See, that's a fallacy. Who says something doesn't matter if it's correct.

Did you miss the part of the secret that was about BRAGGING?
I agree with both you and OP. It's fine to me if you take drugs to unleash your creativity, but if you brag about taking drugs? Yeah, what are you? Such a badass for having to rely on that? No, that's pathetic.
There's nothing COOL about having to get high in order to, let's say, paint a picture. There's nothing bad about it either. Just don't brag about it. Jeez.

Agreed that there is no point about bragging about your drug or alcohol use but something about the way this secret was written implies that OP isn't ok with any kind of creative work under the influence (I guess it was the use of the word "cheating" -- I mean, "cheating"? LOLWUT)
