I don't think so, because Ruby and Sapphire aren't outdated yet. I could see them doing it if it ever becomes impossible to have Pokémon from Gen III in the current gen, like if the Gen VI is incompatible with Gen V and before I wouldn't be surprised if they remade Ruby and Sapphire.

Good point. Plus you can still play the GBA games on the DS, but you can't do that with Gameboy games. Maybe they'll do it for a later system (I have no idea if GBA games work with the 3DS.)

I actually haven't played the Gen III games still, oops.

3DS doesn't have a GBA slot, so no.

No, you can't play GBA games for the 3DS. (Or the DSi for that matter.) There's some that are downloadable, but none of the Pokémon games are.

Gen III will technically be incompatible with Gen VI, since the 3DS doesn't have a GBA slot. If Gen VI can trade with Gen V, it'll still be sort of compatible by proxy, but enough of a hassle that R/S/E remakes in Gen VI would probably be worth it.

I know; and it wasn't directly compatible with Gen V either. I don't think it's *that* much of a hassle, but whatever.
