A lot of my fannishness is happening in this comm right now too, OP. I'm really enjoying talking with people about things and getting recs for stuff and being silly. It's a great comm.

I don't think LJ/DW discussion-style fandom is in danger of disappearing. (I think LJ is in danger of disappearing or becoming largely unusable at some point because of DDOS attacks or something like that, but that's a different story.) Some people are always going to want to have in-depth conversations about fandom, and that won't change.
