I agree, but not in the HOW DARE YOU sense. It's more the fact that people are fucking stupid when drunk/high, and I'm annoyed their creative works get more attention than mine. Admittedly they're more organic and flow better (mostly, provided there is editing afterwards) but still. I feel like my hard work is being laughed at while they vomit over a page and get praised. This annoys me.

Yes, I know it's petty jealousy. I've made my peace with that.

You know that most of these people probably edit their work after they sober up, right? That's how the creative process normally works anyway, whether you are sober or not, most people don't just put their final work directly out there (unless you're like, Mozart in the movie Amadeus or something)

So you believe that everybody who uses drugs/alcohol while creating does so to the point of stupidity/incapacity? Because everybody who uses any chemicals is just a gross sloppy disgusting addict puker?

Sounds more like you're jealous of people who are better writers than you, or writers who flow more easily. That's going to be true whether the other writers are drinking or doing drugs or not. Some totally sober people don't have to work at it very much at all, it just flows right out. Some people can't write under the influence at all - it doesn't make it easier for everybody.
