You have to look a little bit harder for the good ones.

Unless you like Legolas and Haldir. Then 99% of the fics suck and I have never seen a good one. The 1% is pure optimism and the fact that I don't care enough for the Elves to look. >_>

I did find a couple of good ones, but it was the most depressing thing ever looking for them. I could probably look for some kind of community instead of going through AO3 though...

It really, really depends on who you like. I'm biased, but the Men of Gondor have the best fics, especially Boromir. (Aragorn doesn't because a lot of the fics are Aragorn/Legolas and they are pretty much all OOC and rubbish.)

Pippin and Merry, Legolas and Gimli is where I was hanging. I don't really care what kind of relationship they are in though...

Aragorn/Boromir is my only ship in LoTR though, and not even that is a serious one.

I just wanted some good fanfics...

(I should probably just reread the books, it's like 10 years since I read them)

Merry and Pippin are everywhere, I'll have to ask my friends for those because I really don't care about hobbits. But look for those in Henneth Annun, they tend to be pretty damned awesome.

Re: Aragorn/Boromir? That is my massive, gigantic OTP of doom, so that? That I can actually help with massively.

alex_quine Her Cold Pressing AU. Please, please don't let the premise scare you off. Her writing style is stunning, and her Aragorn and Boromir are seriously some of the best I've ever seen.

Since you where so nice sharing with me, I will tell you why I am so out of date with LoTR fandom... I finished watching the last movie on New Years Eve (with my best friend, who is a LoTR fan) and I didn't really like the books when I read them, but it was the translated Norwegian version and I was like 11 so that might explain it.

AND I KNEW I WASN'T ALONE! My previously mentioned bff mocked me when I called her after watching the first LoTR movie and said that I shipped them, she just called me an idiot and started laughing (also something about: at least this time the characters have met),

HAHA it's okay. I read the books at sixteen, hated Aragorn, loved Boromir, liked Legolas, went into fandom and was massively scarred by all the rapist Boromir fics. My ex actually reintroduced me to LotR more than a year ago, mostly by going 'I love Sean Bean and he plays your favourite character watch it', so I did, and I haven't looked back since. 8D

HAHA Aragorn/Boromir is one of the big pairings in the fandom, honestly, especially amongst Boromir fans. 8D The fic output tends to be really awesome.

I swear I thought about replying to this... I just slightly forgot.

Anyho, I will comment when I get around to reading it, school and actual real books are keeping me occupied at the moment (New Year's resolution: read at least 4 books a month.)

But thank you for all the recs! They are all bookmarked, and I did read some Legolas/Gimli fanfics I quite enjoyed!
