Okay. Moral judgements about temperance aside, writing is not the kind of thing you can "cheat" at, unless you are plagiarizing.

It seems to me to be totally bizarre to view your reading habits as some kind of reward/punishment system for the author. And highly ineffective, since the writer neither knows nor cares if you read or not. The only one who loses out is yourself. Is the righteous high really that rewarding?
