And I disagree with the people who says that kink meme aren't a place to find good fic: you can have perfectly good fics in KMs, hell, my favourites for other fandoms are on KMs (I just realized that they were also non-porny ones, huh).
In The Hobbit, there's just that wave of fresh faced first-fic babies, they'll get better with time and/or "more experienced" writers will come after a while.
