I don't remember all the details, and this is mostly unsourced gossip so obviously take it with a grain of salt but IIRC there was a lot of people who were focused on being serious ~~~actors~~~ and a decent amount of interpersonal drama. Not necessarily infighting, but definitely a lot colder than the TNG crew, and a lot more cliques. I believe I've read that Avery Brooks, for example, just was not interested in getting along with the rest of the cast to the point of being kind of a dick about it, and that Colm Meany was close to Alexander Siddig but distant from other people. I also kind of vaguely recall hearing some rumors about cast romances that lead to awkwardness (besides Visitor and Siddig). But it's been a while.

In general, though, it was apparently a lot colder and less friendly than the famously friendly TNG cast.

I was at a convention where Marina Sirtis talked about visiting Terry Farrell on the DS9 set and how different it was from the TNG set. The TNG set has apparently always been a crazy lovefest, they still get together and have dinner; they're adorable. DS9 apparently was always really tense.

I worked with Avery at a con and he was kind of a nightmare, so I believe it. Politeish, but really demanding that everything be a certain way.
