How is saying I prefer one character over another bashing? I was happy they picked my favourite of the two for the image. Am I not allowed to say that?

Personally, I think Kawalski was a better friend to Fraser than Vecchio, but each to their own. That doesn't mean I'm bashing the character. Also, who said anything about Fraser ending his friendship with RayV? You're absolutely right, Fraser wouldn't do that. Not sure where that even came from.

Of course you may express your opinion, but why did you even have to add "...not RayV" to your statement?

Just thank the person for having RayK with Fraser, and say nothing else. IMO, putting "not RayV" implies too much that you dislike RayV. It's the same as someone asking for F/K stories on LJ or DW and saying "No RayV; he makes me vomit." That is definitely bashing, and your saying "not RayV" verges on bashing.

As for Fraser ending his friendship with RayV - there are far too many F/K shippers who want to see that happen, IMO. Maybe not you personally; I'm speaking about the fandom as a whole, because I don't see very many F/K stories being written that still have RayV in Fraser's life as his much-loved best friend, and I'm tired of seeing these F/K stories posted all the time.

You're nitpicking.

IME when people post images of Due South, it's almost always Fraser and RayV. I was happy that this one is RayK.

Then we see much different things online.

I'm always seeing photos of Fraser with Kowalski in LJ and DW - never RayV. It's like the fandom is trying to erase RayV and make it seem that Due South started with the Kowalski seasons. And I've often seen so-called Due South fans recommended skipping the RayV seasons because they're not "slashy." And that is terribly wrong! There is more to Due South than F/K slash, but no one except me seems to care anymore about Fraser's and RayV's friendship.

So you think someone who hits you is a better friend than someone who never laid a hand on you in anger? You have very sad ideas about what friendship is. Kowalski hit Fraser, so he's not a better friend than RayV was to Fraser. You probably just think Kowalski is hot and cute, and RayV is ugly, so you ignore the fact that Kowalski hit Fraser and also left him to get beaten up. RayV didn't do those things, because he loves Fraser and he also thinks about Fraser and not just himself. Kowalski is selfish.
