I think if he was expressing his sexuality through his hair, he'd use a more stylish "gay man" haircut, and not the "Shorthand sign that lesbians use to know what women to hit on" haircut. Best guess, a team of researchers did some studies, decided this haircut appealed best to his demographic, and told his stylist to keep it like that.
