Trigger Warning for Rape
Bascially, the episode revolves around the idea that as a companion Inara as an "anti-rape" drug she takes (the way I understand it, if she is being raped the drug kills the rapist). In this episode, Inara gets captured by the Reavers, Mal and the others go to save her and find many dead Reavers around a traumatized Inara (implying they died because they raped her and were posioned by her "anti-rape" drug).
When they're back on the ship, Mal starts treating Inara respectfully all of a sudden...the writer even refffered to it as Mal wanting to treat Inara "like a lady" after her horrible experience.
It's just gross.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-17 07:56 am (UTC)(link)I couldn't fucking bear Inara getting raped, let alone by reavers, let alone for it to be some big lesson for Mal to stop treating her like a whore. I love Mal, but no. I love Inara, and I just couldn't witness that much horrid crap directed towards her.
