I don't think there's anything wrong with hating a ship... however, hating a person because of who they ship is pretty pathetic, whatever their shipping preferences. I don't get why ship haters feel the need to bash the shippers, or even bash the pairings just to upset the shippers. If I hate a ship I just ignore it and focus on the ones I like.

I wouldn't necessarily say that USUK shippers are more talented and nicer in general. I've seen a good mix of talent, and a pretty even mix of both niceness and (unfortunately) nastiness, in both USUK shippers and anti-shippers. I'm a USUK shipper, and I'm friends with good people who are USUK shippers, and good people who aren't.

Dear US/UK Shippers

At least you aren't lusting after idealized human representations of fascist Germany. It's a low bar but by god you hopped it.

yeah... I'm gonna bet you were always a USUK shipper and this is either to get a discussion going or snub some haters.

My bet is on "most passive-aggressive secret ever".

So... you love US/UK, and you made a fake secret to annoy the haters? Or you made a fake secret to make it look like that's what you were doing, and you don't really give a damn about Hetalia shipping politics?

Either way, it doesn't seem it got much of a reaction.

does an anon apology count?

(Anonymous) 2013-01-18 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
Um, what? Some of the rudest, whiniest, most entitled brats I've come across in fandom have been USUK shippers. I say this as a USUK shipper.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-18 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, there sure are more better US/UK stories... Probably, because there are more people writing and most writers are either from the United States or the United Kingdom. Write about what you know, I guess?

what... is this really a thing?!
